Taking the IELTS Exam in Nepal
TEST CENTERS IN NEPAL
There are six test centers in Nepal, namely, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Birtamod, and Butwal. For the computer-delivered test, there is only one location: Kathmandu.
FREQUENCY OF EXAMS
Paper-based IELTS exams are conducted almost every week on Thursdays and/or Saturdays. The speaking tests, however, are conducted on separate dates, and the information regarding the schedule is shared to the candidates through Email and/or SMS. In contrast, computer-delivered tests are conducted for up to 20 times in a month.

EXAM FEE
The current fee for taking the IELTS in Nepal is NRs. 27,100/-. For the computer-delivered test, it’s cheaper: NRs. 25,300/-! VALIDITY OF THE IELTS SCORE
IELTS scores are valid for 2 years, and you will have to take the exam again only if your college/university/employer or the immigration authority needs you to.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR UNIVERSITY ENTRY
For Diploma/Advanced Diploma levels, universities accept a score of 5.5 (no bands less than 5.0); for Bachelors, they accept 5.5/6.0 (no bands less than 5.5); and, for Masters, you would need a 6.0/6.5/7.0 (no bands less than 6.0). However, you need to talk to our counselor to check the university’s website and find out about their English language requirements.
